Global Bone Health Initiative

A global initiative to implement patient-centered education, awareness, and engagement on bone health and osteoporosis for patients living with co-morbidities to osteoporosis through collaboration with patient groups and organizations around the world that serve these communities.

“Join the voices that are re-defining conversations on bone health, healthy aging and reaching those patients who may be most at risk”
A Program With Global Reach

We are partnering with bone health leaders, patient groups and organizations in key countries that will help concentrate efforts providing awareness, resources, screening information and education to those affected by co-morbid disease states of osteoporosis.

Taking Bone Health Seriously

Our Misson

We will be raising awareness, collecting data, supporting therapeutic areas across priority countries/regions in efforts to increase screenings for, for example, pre-fracture prevention, bone health education and the important connections between bone health and patients’ existing co-conditions. In order to do this we will be partnering with patient groups to gather the necessary data, create a Global Council of those co-condition groups and will conduct a social and conventional media campaign for screening, awareness, bone health, and healthy aging.

Awareness

To raise awareness among broader communities beyond bone health groups and provide tools and resources for education

Data

Collect data to better serve patients from co-morbid states and enhance the impact of the already existing initiatives partners have underway

Education

Support therapeutic areas to increase screening, bone health education, understanding how their bone health is connected to the larger disease

Global Council

Work with partners to create a Global Council for Bone Health among  co-condition groups as well as bone health leaders.

What are the benefits of this program for patient groups?

Leadership and advocacy in a digitalized world

We aim to bolster local groups’ efforts to reach and inform advocacy and education efforts including bone health and co-morbidities, osteoporosis, fragility fractures that can be prevented, post-fracture care and approaches

Enhanced educational tools and resources

Availability of online tools and resources to assist patient groups and their communities with understanding the existing relationship between bone health and their condition(s)

A Platform for Collaboration:

GHLF is a bridge between disease states. Through joint meetings and the Global Council, patient groups provide insights to benefit from tailor-made content on the importance of bone health education and advocacy in their communities

Increased awareness and partnerships

Through partnerships, we will elevate outreach together and enhance awareness on best practices alongside international and national bone health organizations and like-minded organizations from your country and countries around the world.

Advocacy

Hearing patient voices. Communicating with leaders about the need for services to support healthy aging, screening and resources needed in their communities

Patient Perspectives

Learning from other patient experiences and the importance of telling their story and sharing their unique patient journey through interviews, quotes, and imagery

Why building better bones matters to you

The bone-thinning disease osteoporosis — and the fractures that often follow — don’t have to be a normal part of aging. There is a lot you can do to protect your bones throughout your life. You can start by understanding your risk factors and how your existing health conditions, along with the medications you take to treat them, impact your bone health.
